Being alone on benches

16 09 2010

And benches made for sitting

gives strangers a shared existence

if only for a minute

And these moments can be so uplifting

And the conversations you get in by sitting alone on benches

might never have happened if you had not been there by yourself.

Via Streeteditors: This adorable video is doing the blogging rounds at the moment, and for good reason. Poet/singer/songwriter Tanya Davis has teamed up with film-maker Andrea Dorfman to artfully remind us all, “How to be alone”. The clip features adorable on screen illustrations, and reminders of “the little things” that make us happy. Davis’ narration is lovely throughout too… a beautiful reminder of the joys of life.

sure, pass it on. I flagged it to highlight about conversations (conversations to open ourselves and the world) but the other parts of the video too resonate. I too feel i have learnt a lot, and esp travelling and being away from people like we are, it is magnified.
